ALMAY Intense i-Color Collection

Hey Guys,

It's been a while and I am pleased to share with you all some 'new' cosmetic products that have absolutely blown my mind.
Firstly, when I  started using make-up on my skin, I was very wary of the products I used. My mother picked out some products for me in the Almay range as she believed this make-up was 'pure' and 'safe' for my young skin.

I unfortunately had forgotten about the quality of makeup Almay produces and as of yesturday I have rekindled my love for this cosmetic brand. Blinded by  Mac, MUFE, Lancome and L'Oreal. After experimenting and using this product at 'work'. I will definitely recommend this Brand to everyone.

Almay is Hypo-allergenic, Ophthalmologist tested, cruelty-free and is comprised of ingredients that are good for the skin.

They have recently come up with a brilliant line. The Intense i-color range which consists of Almay's signature colour palettes, specified for different eye shades- making smokey eye-looks easy to create. There is also a new formulated non-creasing shadow stick and beautiful liners/ mascaras that will make you want to ditch brands like Maybelline, L'Oreal and Rimmel.

Before I go on any further, I would like to say that my eyes were very sensitive. For the first 5 years when I started wearing make-up. Eyeliner and eyeshadow was a BIG 'No, No' for me. I would always get conjunctivitis. Not only was it uncomfortable and very irritating, it was also very unattractive. So, if you do have any eye irritations or skin irritations then I do believe Almay is the cosmetic brand for YOU!

I mentioned earlier on in this blog that almay is cruelty free and it's TRUE!
Just think. If a product needs to be tested on animals before humans, then, is it really that 'safe' for us?
The answer is No! No, it isn't safe. Which is why I am happy to share with you all almays attitude towards animal testing.

" almay does not conduct animal testing. for over 20 years, almay has eliminated animal testing in all phases of research, development, and manufacturing of all of our products. we do not support, nor request that our suppliers do, animal testing. in fact, our vendor standards state that almay does not condone the use of animal testing in any of its products and instructs suppliers that they should not perform any animal testing for product development and/or safety evaluations on materials or products supplied to almay."

aS AN aNIMAL LOVER, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. oVER THE YEARS i HAVE SLOWLY BEEN CHANGING MY BEAUTY PRODUCTS TO CRUELTY FREE ONES. nOT ONLY ARE THEY BETTER FOR YOUR HAIR/SKIN, THEY ARE ALSO NOT BEING TESTED ON POOR INNOCENT ANIMALS. So, make the switch today!

I have provided you guys with a direct link to the products below so, please feel free to check it out an head down to your local priceline stores.

Modern ' Pin-up' Inspired - Winged White liner

Hey Guys,

This is my Latest tutorial uploaded on 'RubyGAustralia'. Please excuse the lighting as I recently bought a new camera and I'm still experiment with everything  including super low lux.

Light coloured liners are a huge trend on and off the runway. I am all about it as it does more than just brighten and widen the eyes. It brings a subtle definition without looking to ;vintagy'. Coloured eyeliners including chromes, muli-colours and light neutral tones are replacing the traditional black/brown liner. This Tutorial embodies my favorite make-up style- the 1950's 'pin-up' look. The white liner gives this Pin-up inspired look a modern edge and twist.

This look can be worn as a day or nigh look, depending on the intensity and liner pigmentation. This look compliments all skin tones and eye shades so, don't be afraid to give this look a go!

What I wore for NYE (Make-up Tutorial & OFTN Kaftan Dress)

Hey Guys

I hope you all had a fantastic morning/afternoon/evening celebrating the NY! One piece of advice I want to share with you all this year is,

"build your ladder so high, that if you get half way..you'll still be higher than everybody else" ~ My Mother.

I want you guys to set goals, achieve them and slowly reach your dreams not only in 2012 but, every year.
I know it's been a while and i do apologize for my absence. This Video was meant to go up on NYE before the celebrations began here in Australia. However, I didn't have the luxury of time.
I chose a dress that was light and airy. Australia's temperature during the summer varies from 25-37 so, it makes sense to wear something practical.
Because my dress had tones of the same palette a long with some tribal prints, i kept my make-up on a minimum.

I hope you guys all had a fantastic new year and may 2012 bring you nothing but good health, happiness, love and peace.

Christmas Holiday Make-up 2011

Hey Guys,

I hope you are all getting into the Christmas spirit! Not the materialistic spirit where you justify outrages purchases on the seasonal holidays. But, the true meaning of Christmas. Make sure you cherish every moment with your loved ones, eat well and don't forget to give to the ones who need it most. You can all go w/o Sigma an M.A.C brushes this Christmas hahaha.

I don't know about your relatives but, mine go over the top when they see me or, any of my cousins wearing too much Make-up. I created a day look which is quite safe and girly.
The eyes are soft with no harsh edges and the lips seem to resemble the lips i had After i had eaten a few Raspberry flavored popstickles .

I am testing the water during the evening with my choice of make-up for the night but, the old folks will live.
Our Christmas decor is always gold and red...alway gold/red ornaments are hanging on our tree. So, I decided to use that colour scheme for my eyes.
My lips are a darker red compared to the day look but, that is appropriate for the evening.

Arabic Eyes - Purple & Yellow Contrast

Hey Guys,
It's Ruby, I hope you are all doing well.

I created this look after I was approached by a very talented Sydney/Australian photographer to do a photo shoot. I was asked to do a series of Arabic inspired make up looks and to model as well. The eyeshadow colours were chosen based on a series of beautiful Middle eastern materials he had hand picked himself.
If you want to see the professional photographs, I will notify you all via twitter or FB and they will be featured here on my blog.

You  can wear this look with or w/o the yellow to achieve a gorgeous exotic middle eastern eye. This look will flatter all eye colours and shapes so don't be afraid to give it a go.

ELLE Beauty Spread meets Dior Runway

Hey Guys, it's Ruby. I Hope you are all doing well.

As a model here in Sydney, Australia. I predominately do Beauty shoots. If I'm not doing my own make up for shoots, I get the opportunity to work with other skilled and talented makeup Artists around Australia who constantly inspire me everyday. Media is a big influence in today's Society and I too, am constantly inspired by the top make up Artists, hair stylists and designers the world has to offer.

In this tutorial I have combined two of my favourite looks together. A beauty spread from the infamous ELLE magazine and make up from an old Christian Dior Runway show.

Below I have included the images that have inspired me as reference, a list of products I used, and the link to my tutorial on my YouTube Channel - RubyGAustralia.
